The disinfectable, wireless Medical Keyboard AK-C8112 in full layout is highly versatile in hygiene-critical areas and lives up to the high demands of frequent users in hospitals and medical practices. The silicone cover and the especially flat key profile allow for the highest level of cleaning and disinfection. Being waterproof, the AK-C8112 can be sprayed, wiped or even immersed in disinfectants and the ultra-flat key profile prevents microbial growth on contaminants and disinfectant residues in gaps. Depending on the hygienic requirements, it is available with a removable membrane that can be autoclaved for sterilization or a permanently installed silicone membrane with IP68 rating. To make wipe disinfection even more efficient, the CleanFunction disables the key input, so you do not need to disconnect the keyboard. In addition to its cleaning capabilities, the AK-C8112 has compelling technical features. Disinfectable medical keyboard with full layout and flat key profile
Like all Active Key hygiene keyboards of the “-12”-range (suffix -12, e.g. AK-C7412, AK-C4012), the AK-C8112 hygiene keyboard has a particularly flat key profile. This has been proven to remove more bacteria and germs during cleaning. Together with the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden, we carried out a phosphor gel emulation test with the AK-C8100 and AK-C7412 hygiene keyboards. This has clearly shown that the keyboard with the flat key profile (AK-C7412) leaves significantly less to no cleaning residue in the spaces between the keys after wipe disinfection than the keyboard with the higher profile (AK-C8100).
